This one was particularly challenging because we only had two weeks to make it happen. Therefore, we built a hybrid workflow between 2D and 3D elements to allow some flexibility.

We started with storyboarding the main frames before animating, ensuring every transition and key visual was planned for maximum impact across the 82 LED screens.

Once the boards were approved, we moved into asset creation, modeling 3D objects while simultaneously preparing 2D motion graphics to overlay textures, typography, and effects. The synchronization across the massive LED canvas required careful timing and multiple rounds of testing, as even a small misalignment could break the visual flow.

To streamline the process, we set up a modular system, so elements could be swapped or adjusted quickly without re-rendering the entire sequence. Finally, we rendered in passes, which allowed our compositors to tweak colors, lighting, and depth for a seamless look. Despite the tight schedule, the show came together as a cohesive and immersive experience that fully leveraged the scale and scale of Riyadh Boulevard’s LED installation.
